The rain off the Atlantic was still drumming against the rusted corrugated roof of the Funhouse when the air in front of Jack’s vision suddenly shimmered.
In the middle of his white-and-black smudged view, a sharp, neon-crimson system window glitched into existence, floating right over the giant papier-mâché clown head.

Jack stood on the top catwalk of the Funhouse, reading the glowing crimson letters floating in front of his eyes.
He blinked once. Twice. Then his mouth expanded into a wide, wet, crimson-painted scar of a smile, his chest vibrating with a dry, wheezing, uncontrollable hehehe... HAHAHAHA!
"System... you dirty, dirty dog!" Jack rasped into the empty rafters, wiping a wisp of wet white paint from his cheek. "You really know how to pick 'em! Aunt May?! Natasha's chest?! Are you trying to get me killed by every Avenger on the East Coast?!"
Down below, Natasha was sitting on a crate of magnesium flares, carefully oiling her combat knife. She paused, hearing his manic screeching from the balcony, and looked up with her cool, unblinking grey eyes.
"Who are you talking to up there, Jack?" Natasha asked, her voice echoing softly off the wooden walls. "Did the greasepaint finally penetrate your skull?"
Jack didn't answer right away. He dropped down the iron ladder like a sliding fireman, his boots hitting the floorboards with a heavy THUD.
He sauntered over to her, his stolen lavender velvet jacket hanging loose over his bare, bandaged chest, his wide, bloodshot eyes glowing with a brand-new, terrifying spark of [12.5% SYNCHRONIZATION].
He stopped right in front of her crate, leaning down until his chalk-white face was barely six inches from hers. The scent of copper, peppermint, and cheap zinc paint drifted over her.
"Hey, Red..." Jack purred softly, his voice dropping into a raspy, conspiratorial whisper.
"What, Jack?" Natasha murmured, not flinching, her hand resting casually on the hilt of her knife.
"Hypothetically speaking..." Jack grinned, his blood-stained teeth flashing under the single hanging bulb. "...if a guy was to, say... reach out right now... and grab a handful of Marvel's finest Black Widow assets... how many bones would he break before he hit the floor?"
Natasha tilted her head, a slow, dangerous smile playing at the edge of her lips. She raised her combat knife, letting the polished steel blade reflect the crimson grin on his face.
"All twenty-four of your ribs, Jack," Natasha whispered sweetly. "And then I'd start on your fingers."
"Ooh, direct hands-on orthopedic restructuring!" Jack cackled, taking a half-step closer, his gloved fingers twitching right at his side. "You know how to promise a guy a good time! Dare to touch, Jackie... DARE TO TOUCH!"
Before he could test the system quest's first objective right then and there, Felicia’s boots slammed against the wooden floor as she came running from the front entrance.
"Jack! Natasha!" Felicia yelled, holding a pair of military-grade night-vision binoculars. "We’ve got a problem! Or a miracle, depending on how crazy you are today!"
"What is it, Kitty?!" Jack yelled back, popping his teeth. "Did the pizza delivery finally get here?!"
"No," Felicia panted, pointing toward the dark Brooklyn highway outside. "A black armored van just parked two blocks down under the overpass. High-powered rifles, tactical gear, skull emblems on the vests..."
Natasha stood up instantly, her playful demeanor vanishing in a fraction of a second, replaced by cold, lethal KGB precision.
"Frank Castle," Natasha said quietly, her hand sliding onto her Glock. "The Punisher is here."
Jack looked at the glowing crimson system menu floating in the corner of his eye, then looked toward the dark front entrance of the Funhouse. His wide, white-and-crimson face lit up like a Christmas tree.
"The Punisher?!" Jack shrieked into the high rafters, exploding into a wild, unstoppable, screeching laugh that shook the dust off the ceiling. "PERFECT! Frank can be our first official guest! And right after he tries to blow my head off, we're taking a road trip to Queens to visit Aunt May! DARE TO ENTER THE CIRCUS, FRANKIE! HAHAHAHA!"
