A free home for web novels — for readers and the people who write them
Orbit Novels is a web novel library where independent authors publish their stories chapter by chapter, and every chapter is free to read. No coins, no unlock timers, no paywall.
What Orbit Novels is
Orbit Novels is two things in one place. For readers, it is a library of serialized fiction — fantasy, isekai, romance, sports stories, fan fiction and more — that you can read on any phone, tablet or computer without paying or even signing up. For writers, it is a free publishing platform: write in the browser, publish chapter by chapter, and build a readership.
Every novel on the site is published by a member of the community. Anyone who signs in can both read and write; there is no separate "author account" to apply for.
For readers
- Every chapter free, in full, with nothing to unlock.
- Dark and Light site themes, plus reading settings for text size, page color and a serif or sans font.
- Your place is saved when you are signed in, with a Continue reading card on the homepage.
- A Library of saved novels, ratings, chapter likes, comments, and author follows.
- Many ways to find the next story: rankings, the Novel Finder, genre pages, Made for You and Random.
For writers
- Free publishing with an editor that autosaves, keeps chapters as drafts until you publish, and has a distraction-free focus mode.
- Paste & Auto-Split to turn a finished manuscript into chapters in one go.
- Covers and in-chapter images, tags, content warnings and author's notes.
- A dashboard with real views, comments and followers, and a manage page for every book.
- A share preview image for every novel and chapter, and a spot in Authors to Discover for new writers.
You keep ownership of what you write. See the publishing guide to get started.
What we care about
- Free reading, for real. No chapter is ever locked behind a payment.
- Honest numbers. Views count a visitor at most once per novel or chapter every 30 minutes and ignore bots, so authors see real readership.
- Respect for authors. Only publish what you wrote or have permission to share. Copyright complaints are handled under our content policy.
- Your privacy. Analytics only start after you accept the cookie banner. See the Privacy Policy.
- Fast on every device. The site is built to load quickly and scroll smoothly on phones and tablets as well as computers.
