Deep beneath the streets of Queens, forty feet under the concrete hum of Roosevelt Avenue, sat the long-abandoned 1930s IND subway station—a forgotten graveyard of rusted tracks, chipped white tiles, and flickering incandescent bulbs.
Water dripped steadily onto the ties: drip... drip... drip.
The space had been completely transformed. Dozens of heavy black cables snaked from an overhead city power junction box down to a makeshift workbench loaded with stolen Stark tech, monitors, and military-grade server racks. On the far end of the platform, a velvet sofa stolen from a closed Broadway theater sat right next to an arcade claw machine filled with freeze-dried rations, stolen bearer bonds, and party poppers.
Felicia was lounging on the velvet sofa in a silk robe, balancing a laptop on her knees as she counted through thick stacks of bearer bonds they'd pinched from the Meatpacking District auction.
"Twenty... thirty... forty million in negotiable securities," Felicia purred, tossing a stack into an open leather duffel bag. "I have to say, Jack, your 'anarchy financing' model is ridiculously lucrative. Wall Street traders would kill for this return on investment."
Nearby, Natasha stood by a metal workbench, her dark red hair pulled up as she wiped down her twin pistols. She wore a fitted charcoal grey tank top and cargo pants, looking relaxed yet lethal in the dim yellow light. Her steel-grey eyes flicked up toward the subway tunnel entrance every few seconds—habitual vigilance from a woman who had spent her life running from international intelligence agencies.
And in the middle of the empty tracks, sitting on an overturned wooden crate, was Jack.
He was wearing his lavender velvet trousers and a unbuttoned white shirt, his bare chest showing off fresh white bandages. His face was clean of greasepaint, revealing his pale, scarred features under the warm bulb light. His bloodshot eyes glowed with a steady, electric-crimson pulse as his [35.0% SYNCHRONIZATION] hummed through his veins.
He was currently balancing three live grenades on his forehead while eating a cold slice of Brooklyn pizza.
"Forty million?" Jack rasped, his voice smooth and low in the quiet subway vault. "Pah! Numbers on a screen, Kitty! Paper in a box! What good is forty million bucks if you can't use it to buy a giant inflatable rubber duck and float it down the East River?!"
Natasha set her gun down with a soft click and walked over to the edge of the platform, looking down at him on the tracks. Her expression softened into that rare, quiet warmth she reserved only for him when the cameras weren't rolling.
"We have bigger problems than rubber ducks, Jack," Natasha said, her voice echoing softly off the damp tile walls. "S.H.I.E.L.D. has locked down the bridges and tunnels. Steve is personally overseeing the NYPD task force, and Tony is currently rewriting his suit's cybersecurity protocols to prevent another... Macarena incident."
Jack caught the three grenades smoothly in one hand, popping a piece of pepperoni into his mouth as he looked up at her with a crooked grin.
"Oh, Red! You say 'Macarena incident' like it was a bad thing!" Jack cackled softly, stepping up onto the platform and wrapping his free arm around her waist, pulling her close against his chest. "Four million people saw Iron Man pop his metallic trunk on live TV! That wasn't an incident, that was art!"
Natasha didn't pull away. She rested her hands on his chest, feeling the hot, steady pulse of his heart under his shirt. "You're a nightmare, you know that?"
"Your favorite nightmare, Moscow," Jack purred against her temple, giving her a quick, raspy kiss before turning toward the wall of monitors.

Felicia looked up from her laptop, her eyes sparkling. "Alright, boss. We have the lair, we have the funding, and we have alien energy tech. What's the next big move?"
Jack’s crimson smile expanded past human limits, his bloodshot eyes flashing with absolute, terrifying inspiration.
"Next move?" Jack shrieked happily, grabbing a can of green spray paint off the workbench. "Next move is to invite the whole town to the grand finale! DARE 'EM TO FIND US UNDERGROUND! HAHAHAHA!"
